There were some fine examples of descriptive writing that definitely formed a colourful picture in this reader's mind 😀
Being able to capture the character of a person involves paying close attention to detail - a skill budding young writers learn through observation, inquiry, & a whole lot of imagination!

Book Week @ the Library 17-21 September 2018

Thank you to EVERYONE who embraced the spirit of Book Week & took part in all the activities on offer.  Students not only loved the scavenger hunt in the library, they participated in the book swap, enjoyed two great days of puppetry & plays, got to dress up as their favourite characters, entered the Bookface photo contest plus much, much more!
You all deserve congratulations for making this year's book week such a success - well done :)

ANIMAL ISSUES: Animal Squad ISSUE 12 Autumn 2018

"Horses don't want to be part of the rodeo.  They are forced to take part.  Rodeo causes horses and other animals, such as calves, pain and stress.  You can help these horses and other animals by avoiding the rodeo, and asking others to avoid it as well."

"Horse racing causes injuries and pain to horses.  Help these horses by avoiding horse racing, and encouraging others to avoid them too."

Did you know New Zealand has wild horses?
"The Kaimanawa Heritage Horses society is dedicated to the care and welfare of these horses both domestically and in the wild."
